How to Help

Mary's House.JPG
At S.A.F.E. House, your compassion creates real change. Every act of generosity — whether big or small — helps provide safety, stability, and hope for individuals and families impacted by intimate partner violence.

While staying at the shelter, our residents:
  • Live in semi-private or private housing
  • Receive three meals per day
  • Are provided basic hygiene products
  • Receive needed clothing from our Thriftique store
  • Are invited to participate in services including counseling and case management
  • ...and so much more
When people stay at S.A.F.E. House, the shelter is their temporary home. We have two housing programs called RISE and BEST which provide 12-24 months of case management and rental assistance. Spots in these programs are limited and consist of both past residents and other domestic violence victims in our community.
As a 501(c)3 registered non-profit, we are able to stretch a financial donation to help provide the best support to survivors of intimate partner domestic violence.

There are many meaningful ways to get involved and make a difference, all year long.

Gift Card Wish List

Empower a Survivor with Choice and Dignity. Gift cards are one of our most-needed items. They give survivors the flexibility to purchase essentials, replace personal belongings, and make choices that support their unique needs as they rebuild their lives. To donate gift cards, please reach out to cLay@safehousenm.org.

Most-needed gift cards include:

  • Target

  • Walmart

  • Albertsons & Smith’s

  • Amazon
