At SAFE House, we are dedicated to creating a safe, healing, and empowering environment for all survivors of domestic violence. Our work is rooted in compassion, respect, and an unwavering commitment to justice and equity. These values guide every action, decision, and interaction within our organization.

Our Core Values

1. Safety First

We prioritize the physical, emotional, and psychological safety of survivors, staff, and volunteers. Our spaces are designed to be secure, confidential, and supportive.

2. Dignity & Respect

We believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity, regardless of their background, identity, or life experiences. We honor the strength and resilience of survivors without judgment.

3. Empowerment & Autonomy

We support survivors in reclaiming control over their lives. We encourage self-determination and provide tools, resources, and support that foster independence and long-term healing.

4. Fairness & Acceptance

We are committed to anti-oppression and inclusivity in all we do. We serve individuals of all races, genders, sexual orientations, ages, abilities, immigration statuses, and faiths. We actively work to dismantle systemic barriers that impact our communities.

5. Trauma-Informed Care

We understand the deep impact of trauma. Our services and behaviors are grounded in empathy, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment.

6. Accountability & Integrity

We hold ourselves to the highest standards of honesty, transparency, and ethical practice. We are accountable to the survivors we serve, our community, and to one another.
